Absolutely. Adrian Legg plays an Ovation. They are probably the easiest
'acoustic' guitars to amplify (the old distinction between acoustic &
electric has completely broken down) and are popular with performers
needing amplification w/o an 'electric' sound.

I personally do not like playing Ovations at all. I don't like the sound
and I don't like the feel.

I suspect that I'm prejudiced against them because they are not solid
wood (not really wood at all), but my personal feelings apparently haven't
affected the marketplace. ;-)

I believe that I'd rather have a wooden clarinet, too, although I'd
accept a synthetic bass clarinet (unless I was playing it regularly).
