My question is actually to Steve and Dan. In regards to rules of
aesthetics, does your appearance really affect your performance? Or
better, does the appearance of your instrument really affect your
quality? Like the oboist Roger mentioned... shouldn't any bad player
sound just as bad even if you gold plate their keys? Or even if they
felt really great about their instrument, wouldn't they still sound
just as bad to everyone else?
