To see the collective wisdom on the subject of "wood", send mail to:

LISTSERV%VCCSCENT.BITNET@-----.EDU

Copy and paste this database search:

//
DATABASE SEARCH DD=RULES
//RULES DD *
SEARCH wood IN KLARINET
INDEX
/*

You can, of course, change the keyword after "SEARCH" to whatever you want.
For more info on Listserv database searches send the message: INFO DB
to: LISTSERV%VCCSCENT.BITNET@-----.EDU
or any Listserv.

If you send the database search above, you will receive a list of all notes
with the keyword "wood" in them. 488 of them as of a few minutes ago.

A small sample of the list:

001732 94/03/15 16:29 11 Metal /n/ wood
001735 94/03/15 12:20 17 Re: Metal /n/ wood
001736 94/03/15 12:33 21 Re: Metal /n/ wood
001741 94/03/15 11:15 20 Clarinet construction (was Re: Stuffy notes)
001742 94/03/15 13:26 28 Re: Clarinet construction (was Re: Stuffy
001743 94/03/15 14:40 63 Re: Clarinet construction not convinced that
001746 94/03/16 00:02 18 Re: Clarinet construction (was Re: Stuffy

To retrieve the actual messages, send the SAME database search back to the
Listserv, but change "INDEX" to "PRINT" followed by the number or ranges of
the messages you want separated by a <space>. For example, from the sample
above, if you wanted messages 001732, 001736, and 001742-001746, you would
send:

//
DATABASE SEARCH DD=RULES
//RULES DD *
SEARCH wood IN KLARINET
PRINT 001732 001736 001742-001746
/*

PS: The first person who sends a database request to the group instead of
to the LISTSERV will be condemned to playing a clear plastic clarinet
forever. Yuk, indeed!
