Even before Dan Leeson mentioned that this has been discussed before, I
went back to look over my files to see what was said - especially because
I remembered something about alternative materials. And I found what I
was looking for, a note by Clark Fobes, which contained these words;

>Apparently, Buffet has figured out a good way to pulverize waste wood and
>re-use it. This is very encouraging because they waste about 80% of the wood
>they import due to flaws. They are now producing an R-13 clarinet that uses
>this powder mixed with about 5% resin and a poly carbon fiber.
>About 30 of these clarinets will be available for testing and purchase at the
>clarinet conference this summer!

My question, then, is were they available, and did anyone test them?
