My 2 cents:

I generally agree that much of the 1st mvt. feels like a slow movement,
and that many of the problems associated with that figure are problems of
tempo rather than technique. In fact, I believe that Mozart's music, in
general, presents fascinating challenges to chamber musicians in search
of the "right" tempo.

I've had the most success in producing a unified approach to the figure
by making sure that everyone heads for the note following with the same
sense of momentum. In any case, the search is great fun, and one of the
most serious lessons in chamber playing that good students (and old guys,
too) can get.
