I managed to receive a few messages regarding what are good brands of
bass clarinets for middle and high school students. But I now see that I
have two gaps left to fill about the alto and contrabass clarinets. . .

So my question is, where can you get good dependable alto and contrabass
clarinet mouthpieces? Even ligatures for many of the contrabass clarinet
mouthpieces don't seem to fit too well--they're too small. Any
suggestions? I tend to shy away of the stock mouthpieces which many
companies supply. Do these work if you get them refaced though?

BTW, I am asking about the alto clarinet, not the contra-alto clarinet.

Thanks. Anyone with info should contact me directly rather than clutter
the board.

Anyone out there ever played an opera performance with a conductor so
wasted that he smelled like a brewery!! It is no treat, let me tell you.
