The REAL part to Peter & the Wolf comes from Boosey & Hawkes, for Clarinet in A.
This eliminates your low Eb problem, but may cause you another. At least at firs
t,
the "cat up the tree" is easier in F major (Bb clarinet) than in Gb. With some
practice, you can 1.) learn to climb the tree in Gb, and 2.) find an altissimo
Gb that feels stable and in tune, thus saving you the dilema of the low Eb
as well as the clarinet switch.Ask your orchestra librarian to rent the Boosey
parts so you can get the A part. It's worth the work.
