Don't we all, Michael? I'm just trying to find out if anyone has
discovered a 50-cent reed that performs *almost* as well as a V12! :-)

Perhaps I shouldn't even ask, but has anyone tried Prestini or Charpen?
If there were three or four good ones in a box of 25, they would still
be less expensive than the Vandorens.

On the other hand, if anyone has found reeds that cost about the same
(Reeds Australia, Bay, Glotin, etc.) where you got five really good ones
out of a box of ten, the same purpose would be served. Places like "The
Woodwind" seem to carry a great profusion of reeds--many options to try.

This conference seems like a good place to share our experiences. Maybe
we can even save each other a bit of money and trouble in the process.
