Black Master GERMAN CUT reeds as well as the WHITE MASTER German Cut reeds
are both intended for use with the German System clarinet. I think the
Black are more for the Austrian market while the WHITE were for the German
market. They have been used by some players with Marcellus mouthpieces.
I think people are looking for a MORRE replacement. However, the Vandoren
German style are narrower and certainly thicker in places that the reeds
designed for the French style mouthpiece aren't. The WHITE have a rounded
end cut at the start of the vamp while the BLACK have a straight cut.
When I have used these reeds with my Wurlitzer set-up playing on the
Wurlitzer mouthpiece or one of the Zinner mit Wurlitzer bahn the result

was quite good. I have also used them on my French mouthpieces but not with
much happiness.

Hope this helps rather than confuses.

Ron
