If the repair of cracks on oboes and EH is relevant, Roger Miller, who
specializes in the above inst.s in Cincinnati, uses a mixture of "Super
Glue" and ground grenadilla wood (to color it), and although I don't think
he uses pins, he does drill holes at the ends of the cracks, and fills them
with the mixture.

questions.
