Jay writes about performing the Mendellsohn concertpiece and has some
technical questions. But his note contains a statement that leaves me
confused. He says that he has found a "basset clarinetist" to play
the work with. Jay, don't you mean a basset hornist?

The two concertpieces are both for clarinet, basset horn, and piano
(though one of them was set by the composer for orchestra and a
lovely thing it is).
