Hi,

I read some of the answers on the high note problem. Many are suggesting
stronger reeds. I have the feeling that going to harder reeds is often
not very productive for the quality of the sound. I like very bright and
cristal clear sound with tonguing sounding like 'ta ta ta' and not like
'tja tja tja'. IMHO a lot of people trying harder reeds (often because
the firm believe that a good clarinet player has to play on 3 and harder
or that a harder reed is THE only way to get to G or super C). I play
with a very old guy who plays BEAUTIFULLY on a Rico 1 1/2 and he plays a
G, A, B, C perfectly clear. Is a lot of practice on a soft reed to get a
clear high note consistently, but the effort will be worth it in the
cristal clear sound afterwards.

Just my two cents.
