Tom Ascher (I think it was) had useful things to say on this sort of thing a
few weeks back, but I may have deleted the message. The thing that leaps to my
mind is that these pupils should get harder reeds and get well used to them in
their own time. Of course, you may have thought of that one already. Otherwise,
it's an embouchure problem or a BAD reed problem, or a moutpiece problem .....
- probably go for embouchure.
