I cannot be of help to the submitter who inquired about learning more
about Klezmer clarinet playing, but I did want to add that THAT is an
art about which I would love to learn more myself. When I first heard
Giora Feidman, I simply sucked in breath and held it, so beautiful were
his conceptions, so elegantly executed, so polished and bold.

But it seems to me that Feidman, like many great players, simply has no
idea of how he does what he does, and he is unable to explain what he does,
or to understand when others less giften than he cannot do it.

As a child, I heard a great deal of Klezmer playing and most of it simply
did not interest me. Since then I realized what a terrible mistake that
was, but it is too late to correct it now.

Is the submitter of the original note aware that there is a Klezcamp
that happens once a year (around December) and that, for a fee, you can
go to this camp and get some training?
