Given the continuing controversy on this list over subjective adjectives
("bright", "dark", blah blah blah), it's probably best to listen to
representative playing on each type. You might want to listen to Sabine
Meyer or Karl Leister (German instrument) and somebody like David Shifrin,
Larry Combs or any of a great number of people playing on French
instruments. Keep in mind that there are a number of other variables such
as recording conditions that will affect the sound as well.

I've heard that Yamaha is making a Boehm system German clarinet. Has
anyone tried them? Are they available in the U.S.?
