Colleagues,

I have been trying new clarinet pads by Flute and Flute pad maker
David Straubinger. I am thrilled with this pad that uses a construction
unlike any other pad I have seen. The success of this new pad is that it
has a delrin form that holds the felt square and flat. I have had these
new pads installed in the clarinet that I play every day for about three
months and have not had to make a single adjustment.

These pads are expensive! $6 each, but I think that the long term
ability of these pads to remain trouble free will far out weigh the initial
cost.

If you live in the San Francisco Bay area I can install these
pads for you. If you live anywhere else, call David at (317) 784-3012
or send a Fax to (317) 784-1735.

I will be taking a clarinet to the "ClarinetFest" with these
pads installed. Because I use cork pads through out the upper joint of
clarinets I only use 5 Straubinger pads in all. which only increases the
price of my overhaul by $30.
