More than a week ago there was a brief mention of a wooden ligature
empirically developed by Frank Sabin, a clarinetist in the Los Angeles
area.

I wrote him and tried to buy one. He was most helpful and called me to
say that he no longer has any. Even the final one that he had, intended only
as a memento, was stolen by someone so he has none left. And his machinist
who made them for him moved away and he has not found anyone else who
can do the job satisfactorily.

So I thought I would close the loop by mentioning this. I was most anxious
to try wood but it looks as if this will not be, at least not in Frank
Sabin's ligature.

Nice man. Very helpful.
