Several weeks ago, Lisa Clayton mentioned picking up
cheap Django Reinhardt recording that had some numbers
with clarinet.

I finally had the presence of mind while at a library to
look up who that player might be. Thanks to the
Grove's Encyclopedia of Jazz, I can say the player
was probably Hubert Rostaing, who played with Reinhardt
from 1940 to 1948.

The Grove's entry said that Rostaing was born in 1918,
has performed and recorded as a leader of his own jazz
and classical groups in the years since, and was the
dedicatee and first performer of a clarinet concerto
by Jean Barraque in 1969.

The section on Reinhardt also had a photo of the guitarist,
taken in 1947, next to another clarinet player, Maurice Meunier.

So can anyone (Lisa?) point me to Reinhardt CDs from his
clarinet-band years?
