There is a great deal of material with violin, clarinet, and piano, far more
than viola, clarinet, and piano. The latter is not as popular a combination
because both the clarinet and the viola are alto instruments and it takes
a master to bring of the combination well.

But for violin, clarinet, and piano, try the trio of Darius Milhaud, that
of Aron Khatchaturian, and that of Charles Ives. There is an excellent
but completely unknown trio of Waldern von Baussnern that can probably
be obtained from the library of the clarinet society. I sent them a copy
years and years ago. It is Brahmsian in style and epoch.

The Milhaud is one of the most charming pieces for that combination and I
hope you enjoy it.
