In reply to Anthony Corman's post about the "tuba player with a method
for breathing," here is a message from my favorite tuba player:

Subject: Arnold Jacobs!!

Arnold Jacobs (my former teacher!!!!!) is almost 78 years old and still
living and teaching in Chicago. I saw him about a month ago. We may
be having him for three days in August to conduct Master Classes. If we
do (at Towson State), I know that they would be of interest to the Klarinet
group!

The book in question is called: Arnold Jacobs: The Legacy of a Master
by M. Dee Stewart (at least I think that that is the correct title: I
lent my copy to a student). It is published by the Instrumentalist
Company, 200 Northfield Road, Northfield, Illinois, 60093. Probably
a local call for you!!!

A great book of annecdotes from collegues and students describing Jake's
techniques and philosphy.

A student of Jake's, Brian Frederickson, is working on a massive book called:
Jake: The Book, to be published sometime in the future.

Hope this helps.
