A few thoughts on relaxation. Having practiced Tai Ch'i for a few
years I think it can be very valuable for helping a musician relax.
I know it has helped my clarinet playing a great deal. Because I'm
conscious of any tension creeping in I can recognize it and try to
eliminate it. I'm not too familiar with Alexander technique so it
may be a faster way to relaxation than Tai Ch'i, but it may be
easier to find a Tai Ch'i class than an Alexander class.
