Subj: Chops -- as in physical

I started playing the alto sax a couple of years ago and spend more time in
my car commuting than I will *ever* have to play the horn. What is the
general consensus about exercises one can do away from the instrument to
either strengthen the embouchure or maintain chops once developed? There
are two exercises that I have read about in Larry Teal's book "The art of
playing the saxophone": the what I call "smiling whistle" and "tight lipped
straight pout". Any other suggestions or sources re keeping chops in shape
from "diaphragm to 'warm air'" while away from the instrument?

Thanks in advance,
Bob Foster
