I was wondering what y'all think about using tenor sax reeds on a bass
clarinet. I had a tenor reed that I used playtesting the school
tenors, and just for fun decided to try that reed on my bass for band
yesterday. It's a Rico Royal 3, never been worked on, straight out of
the box. Anyways, I put it on and got my biggest bass sound ever!
Used that same reed for orchestra today and my high notes in the
Gershwin Cuban Overture came out (finally!), and my whole range had a
whompin' big sound. Have any other bass players on here tried out
tenor reeds on a bass cl., and what have your results been like?
