Interesting news in this dept.

I went to the Buffet warehouse in Libertyville this weekend to buy
clarinets for my shop. While there I had an interesting conversation
about new products from Buffet with the president of B&H USA, Jack Faas.

Apparently, Buffet has figured out a good way to pulverize waste wood and
re-use it. This is very encouraging because they waste about 80% of the
wood they import due to flaws. They are now producing an R-13 clarinet
that uses this powder mixed with about 5% resin and a poly carbon fiber.

About 30 of these clarinets will be available for testing and purchase at
the clarinet conference this summer!

In light of our earlier discussion and my own interest of the use of poly
carbon fiber mixed in some type of matrix (what I called graphite), I am
very excited to see (hear!) how this new composition works.
