What my teacher recommends is a sort of homemade reed holder, holds
any size reed. Get a small plate of glass, like about 5x7, and have
the edges smoothed and rounded. Take an old inner tube from a bike
tire and cut a couple circles of that, about 1/4" wide (don't cut 'em
into strips, leave them in rubber-band-like form). Pull the innertube
strips over the plate of glass, the short way. Your reeds can slip
under, and be held in place by, those innertube strips. Put that
whole contraption into a sandwich-size Ziploc baggie, and you're set!
Of course, if you prefer, you can use super-strong rubber bands in
place of the inner tube pieces.
