Ok- I guess that my message wasn't clear. I'll try to explain better.
I had pad savers that I would place in my clarinet after band rehersal
and after I had swabbed out my clarinet. I believe that as a result of
using the pad savers my clarinet swelled and cracked. Perhaps the savers
held moisture inside the clarinet and it swelled???? I didn't notice that my
clarinet had cracked until I went to take it apart one day and discovered
that I couldn't remove the barrel. Of course for the past few days, I had
been having trouble putting the clarinet together too. Now, you
must remember I was a high school freshman peon when this all occurred!
I really knew almost nothing about wood clarinets and didn't realize that
they could crack. It had never occurred to me. Of course before this
incident I had been playing on a
plastic Bundy wonder that was
indestructable! I hope that this hepls to clear this up!!!!
