Subj: my birthday gift to myself

Just thought I'd announce a significant event to the group. Today
is not only my 59th birthday, but also the first anniversary of my
taking up the clarinet, and also the day of my first lesson. As a
gift to myself, I'm treating myself to a lesson from Gene Collerd
band director here at UIC. I may be starting late, but watch out,
at the rate I'm progressing, I may be competing for your jobs by the
time I turn 70.
