I had a set of pad savers that I used i high school when I first
got my wood clarinet. The instrument was kept at school, so that
the hunidity stayed the same, but to make a long story short- My clarinet
cracked!!!!!! Being the peon that I was as a freshman, I couldn't figure
out why I coundn't take my barrel off one day. After that I got rid of the
pad savers. I never put them inside of a wood clarinet again.
However- I do have a pad saver in my alto and I have not noticed
any adverse effects there. (alto sax that is) :)
