Roger suggests that the volume of air that has to get moving through
the A bass mouthpiece is substantially greater than the B-flat bass
mouthpiece. Why should that be so, Roger? The two mouthpieces are
constructed from the same blank. The bores are not significantly
different in size. It is akin to standard A and B-flat clarinet in
which I don't think that substantially more air goes through the
mouthpiece of one vs. the other. Perhaps I misunderstand your point.
