Roger, notes that are accompanied by the original memo that generated
them, or have such information sprinkled throughout the response are
not based on geography but on the technical capabilities that the note's
send has on his computer system.

One has to call on system function to introduce all or part of another's
note into one that you might happen to be creating. That capability
varies from system to system.

Some have even greater function. They can pull this note into one they
are writing, erase part of it, transfer sentences, etc. and they can
do so while still identifying my part of the note from theirs.

Such function may or may not be described to you as a user of whatever
system you are using. In my case, I use the system of the local
college where I teach math. They have never given me a book on how
things work or what one does for some heavy-duty function so I try to
figure it out as I go along. It is one of the biggest problems on
the internet; i.e., we are all using functionally different systems
to do basically the same thing and, in many cases, those functions are
not completely or even partially known to the user of the system that
has those functions. It leads to confusion at many levels.

Hope this helps.
