I have studied and performed the "Onze Etudes sur des Modes Karnatiques"
by Bozza and found them quite challenging and interesting. Some of these
work well in groups of 3 or 4 as a solo piece for a recital and I have
performed them this way several times.

These are all based melodically on the 24 Indian Karnatic modes. If you
really want to get into these you can try to discover which modes are
employed. Bozza's method of incorporating the modes is very creative and
imaginative. These are among the most difficult pieces I have ever played
and are well worth the effort.

Bozza does not give a lot of instruction on how to play these, so they
won't mean much to anyone without a good imagination and intuition. These
are decidely NOT chromatic.
