To the best of my knowledge the flute is a cylindrical bore
instrument. Also the fingerings on the sax may be similar to
the upper register clarinet, but since the flute overblows an
octave, (as does the sax)_ the fingerings over the entire range
(up to altissimo) are much more similar bewteen flute and sax
than clarinet and sax.
