Tom Ascher comments that his new Buffet A is stuffy and no fun
to play. My A (also a Buffet R-13) is the least stuffy A
clarinet I've ever tried. It's also about 25 years older
than my Bb (s/n 67560). It seems easier for me to get a
good legato on it than on the Bb; maybe this is due to what
Clark pointed out about the tone holes' sharp edges becoming
more rounded over time.

By the way, Clark, how long does it take to get keys back
from Anderson?

And, Jordan, for a perfect reed that lasts forever I'm not
sure how much I would pay, but it would definitely involve
a second mortgage.
