I hate to contradict Clark Fobes, but german silver has NO silver content. It
is technically a white bronze, and, if I remember correctly, consists
traditionally of copper, tin and zinc in varying proportions. No doubt modern
professional instruments have keys which are basically nickel silver because
it's easier to plate.
