You are absolutely right! Buffet has been doing a lousy job with plating
in recent years. I brought it up at the factory last summer and they were
non-plussed.

I suggest having your current instrument replated the next time you want
an overhaul. Ask your repair person to send the Keys to Anderson Silver
plating and ask for double silver plating. Silver holds up better. They
will also nickle plateif you prefer. Plating a set of keys should cost about
$100.
