Graphite (unprocessed) is probably a highly unsuitable material. It does not
grow in fibres, but in layers which flake away. Is Mr. Fobes confusing it with
synthetic carbon fibre? This is used to reinforce other materials, typically
synthetic resins; the machining properties would then largely be those of this
matrix material. Would such materials be sufficiently dense, though?
