I have been thinking about both of your requests and may have an idea on
where to turn. Many years ago I taught in a small college in Sioux City,
IA, Morningside College. There is a man in town, Robert Lowry who many
"older" clarinetists will remember as a Conn clinician from the 50's and
early 60's. He still lives in the area I think, and might be able to give
you some help. I remember years ago that he would tell me stories about
some of these older musicians.
