Subj: "Good-Bye" by Gordon Jenkins

I've found a lead-sheet for "Good-Bye" by Gordon Jenkins.
It was copyright in 1935.

It turned up in a legal fake book volume I have called
"First Time Ever" published by MCA/Mills.

The lyrics of the song are as follows:

I'll never forget you, I'll never forget you,
I'll never forget how we promised one day,
To love one another forever that way,
We said we'd never day, Good-bye.

But that was long ago,
Now you've forgotten, I know.
No use to wonder why,
Let's say farewell, with a sigh,
Let love die, But we'll go on living
Our own way of living,

So you take the high road and I'll take the low,
It's time that we parted,
It's much better so,
But kiss me as you go,
Good-bye.

Off the top of my head, I recall "Good-Bye" as the title
of Goodman's closing theme, but looking at the line of
this song doesn't ring a bell for me. I've not turned up
a copy of "Memories of You" (which has been mentioned here
as a possible alternative title/song) to compare with this
one.

Somewhere I have Goodman recordings that might clarify this,
but this is the best information I can turn up here at work
today.
