Although the converstion has been quite interesting these past
few days regarding on e piece clarinet bodies and one piece
clarinets, my original posting must have been misunderstood,
because what I meant to announce is that Buffet is indeed
making e-flat clarinets with two piece bodies. Hence, just
like a normal clarinet. To clarify this basically--
a mouthpiece, a barrel, an upper joint, a lower joint, and the
bell. My understanding of the situation is that they are
wasting too much ge grenedilla wood and many of the smaller
"left over" pieces of good wood can now be made into joints
for e-flat clarinets.

When I purchased my e-flat last year, I had to wait for 6
months in order for Buffet to ship any over to Liv
Libertyville, IL from France because they just weren't
making any. the demansd The demand must be great?
I could have gone to a dealer with one in stock, but I
chose not to. Could it have been that Buffet wasn't
making any e-flats because they couldn't have gotten any
good wood.

It has nothing to do with them not being able to find long
enough wood. Look at the bottom joint of any bassc clairinet
and there is a huge piece of wood. . .

Has anyone heard of a piece by Thon sorry Thom Ritter George
"Sonata"? It is supposed to be Copland-esque in nature.
