My father was at The Woodwind a while back and asked if they had a
contrabass clarinet he could try. They brought a _very long_, skinny
case from the warehouse. I'll have to ask if he remembers the make, but it
was a non-wood, single-piece body. The case was over 6 feet long and my dad
said he couldn't fit that into his car.

I knew a harpsichordist who bought a Volvo station wagon because it was the
only thing at the time that would allow him to cart his Dowd harpsichord
around. One hopes it won't become necessary to buy a $30,000 case accessory
for contrabass clarinets.
