Re reeds: I just received three boxes of the Grand Concert Thick Blank
Quarter Strength reeds to try. 3.5, 3.75 and 4. I have used these reeds
before in their regular configuration with some good results. I will
post my observations (if the list finds that helpful) after a few days of
working with them. I was unaware of these new cut from Rico International
until I read a posting from Cary Karp. I realize describing how reeds
feel is a bit obscure--but I'll do what I can.

Discussion has been going on for a while about the Reed Wizard. I am curious
if anyone out there has any experience with a device called the Reed Machine?

It is made by a clarinetist in the San Antonio Symphony. We own one at the
university. I have yet to get the "hang" of it. Anyone with hands-on
experience willing to share their reactions to it?
