Dan, thanks for the advice (and the compliment). I agree that the player
is more important than the brand of instrument. If I could go to the
corner store in Vancouver to try and compare a number of bass clarinets,
I would. Unfortunately, there are not many available in the stores here,
so I have to contact other stores and ask them to send me some basses to
try. If I have some knowledge of other people's experiences, I might be
able to make a more educated desicion about what kind of instruments to
ship out here.

This leads me to my next question. Any advice about which store(s) to
contact in North America?

And I must say that I enjoyed meeting you in Reno, Dan. It's too bad we
didn't have time to talk more.
