I am under the impression that the piece you are referring to
is the Rigoletto Fantasia by Verdi but arranged by Bassi.
If this is the case, then it is available from --on the
Ricordi publication label. I just bought the piece 2 years
ago and it fits the description about the variations
getting more difficult. It's very lyrical and VERY Italian.
