As a Rank (and I do mean RANK) beginner, I'd find private advertisments
both useful and educational. I've learned quite a bit about what
is out there equipment-wise just from reading this list, and as
my skills develop, used equipment would be a great and inexpensive
way to upgrade or to add new clarinets (I promised myself that I'd
get a Bflat Contra someday. Call me twisted, but I love that growly
sound). For someone who is not a professional but a dedicated
hobbyist, used equipment is sometimes the only way to get a decent
horn and still be able to eat.
