Subj: Info wanted on plastic saxophone

A colleague of mine has the opportunity to buy what seems to him (and
me) to be quite an oddity: a plastic saxophone. He's interested to
know anything about the history of this instrument and whether it
might have any value as a curiosity piece or a collector's item. Can
anyone shed some light on this?

The details are:

Plastic E flat Alto Sax., White body and red keys.
The writing on the instrument says:

Grafton
John E Dallas and Sons Ltd., sole distributors.
10606
made in England
patent no 604407 - 604488 (patent pending)
