Once again I have opened a box of V12s only to discover that 4 reeds out
of a box of 10 were greener than a christmas tree, and the rest save one
were wildly irregular, including one that had no centre to it whatsoever.

I was discussing this with a fellow clarinettist who has the same opinion.
We as a whole are being ripped off! Vandoren could filter out these
garbage reeds but then we wouldn't buy as many boxes (Vandoren doesn't
make as much).

One of the reasons that the V12 came out was that the quality of the
regular Vandoren reeds was pitiful. I am sure that if we rise as a group,
in concert with our non-internet clarinet associates we could force
Vandoren to A) reduce the price of their reeds or B) filter out these
inferior box fillers.

I am sure that right now the executives at Vandoren are laughing as we
stupid clarinettists continue to shell out our hard earned dollars ($1.50
per reed) for garbage that can never be salvaged.
