Thanks to all who sent me CD recommendations. I'm working on the
classical and recently purchased Don Byron's "Tuskegee Experiments."
It is wonderful and I haven't taken it off my CD player yet.

I have an odd question. I've been listening to my bargain-basement
CD of Django Reinhardt's music and fell in love with a piece called
"Brazil." The CD doesn't have a listing of the clarinetist who
played with him (Sydney Bechet, maybe?) but if anyone knows who
the clarinetist is, and who the composer is, I'd be very grateful.
I'd like to learn this one; it doesn't seem too horribly difficult
for an amatuer like me. I'd like to take some lessons this summer
and see if I can learn some beginning jazz licks. Since
my community band has a solo & ensemble concert in August, I'd like
to get it learned before then. It'd tickle my artistic director
pink to find out I've been learning to play the horn *correctly*...
