Yes, Stoltzman played them on an RCA recording with pianist
Richard Goode. The CD includes the Op. 78 Fantasy Pieces,
the three "oboe" Romances, and arrangements of two of Schubert's
violin sonatinas.
The Schumann oboe recording is NAXOS 8.550599, played by oboist
Josef Kiss and pianist Jeno Jando. Compositions and
arrangements on the disc are:
Five Folk-Song Pieces, Op. 102 (initially cello)
Three Romances (initially oboe)
Fantasy Pieces, Op. 78 (initially clarinet)
Adagio and Allegro, Op. 70 (initially horn)
Sonata, Op. 70 (initially violin)
Speaking of tempos, I checked out the tempos of Op. 78 on
both these recordings. All numbers are quarter-note-per-minute.
Stoltzman Kiss
