While poking around the UMBC library looking for a score for Prokofiev's
3rd Piano Concerto, I discovered a book by Oskar Kroll titled simply,
Die Klarinette. It is a reprint by Baerenreiter dated 1965.

It looks interesting and I read German well, so my question is: Anyone have
any comments about what Herr Kroll has to say in this book?

If it is unknown to this group, and I find the time to read the whole thing,
I shall provide a summary later or details of particularly interesting or
curious bits. Most immediately interesting are the thumbnail biographies of
leading clarinetists ranging from Denner (born 1655) through Oskar Oehler
(died 1936). BTW, the book was written in Winter, 1944 and Kroll ``didn't
return from the war'', as his widow states in the preface.

I eagerly await comments and discussion.
