If any of you are planing to attend the MENC in Cincinnati, I invite you
to a performance/clinic that I am presenting through NACWPI call Techniques
for the 21st century clarinetist. It is a clinic/recital presented with J.
B. Smith, percussion. Part of the program will be new music for the
clarinet/percussion duo, including a new work by Glenn Hackbarth for
clarinet, percussion and computer controlled electronics.

The clinic will consist of three sections. The first, called 10 steps to a
better clarinet section, will be directed toward public school music
educators and music education students. The second and third sections will
revolve around new techniques for the clarinet including multiple
articulation and circular breathing. The clinic is from 12:00 to 1:15 on
Thursday, April 7th.
